Brief Bio:

 

Dr. Brookham is a licensed psychologist in Arizona. She owns and operates Red Mountain Psychological Services, LLC. She specializes in forensic, clinical, and neuropsychological assessment and testing. She is an expert witness in state and federal courts for criminal, civil, and immigration matters. She was also core faculty at the University of Phoenix’s Tempe campus, for the CACREP accredited Masters of Science in Counseling program. Before she became a psychologist she earned a dual Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and psychology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She earned her Master of Science in psychology from Walden University and a Master of Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.


\Dr. Brookham earned her Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology, at Argosy University, a school accredited by the American Psychological Association. She completed her doctoral internship at the Arizona State Hospital, which is also accredited by the American Psychological Association. She completed rotations in forensic psychology and forensic neuropsychology. She conducted evaluations and ongoing therapy with individuals in the forensic hospital, civil hospital, and at the Arizona Community Protection and Treatment Center, a program for individuals civilly committed as sexually violent persons. In addition, she completed pre-doctoral practicums in a forensic psychology private practice, and at the Vet Center, an outpatient counseling center affiliated with the Phoenix Veteran’s Affairs Hospital. Dr. Brookham is a member in good standing of both the American Psychological Association and the Arizona Psychological Association.


Dr. Brookham has had a number of work experiences in addition to several years in a forensic psychology private practice. She has managed an outpatient program for individuals with developmental disabilities and worked with law enforcement personnel to assist victims of sexual trauma. She has trained community members, college students, lawyers, law enforcement officers (civilian and military), medical personnel, psychology students and interns on a variety of topics. Dr. Brookham has additional specialized training in the assessment of the psychological factors resulting from torture and provides some pro bono assessments for immigrants seeking asylum.


In addition to her general clinical practice and forensic specialties, there are a number of specific populations for which Dr. Brookham has additional expertise. These include active duty military populations and veterans, members of the LGBTQ community, sexual violence survivors, and individuals involved in the immigration process. All of her evaluations take into consideration the unique cultural experiences and beliefs of the client and integrate their unique history into the interpretation and explanation of test results and clinical opinion.
